The Small and Unassuming Raspberry Pi 3 Model B

The small and unassuming Raspberry Pi that has been around for a while and has upped the ante. It is now a viable low-power portable computer system that is ideal for emergency communications or running your AREDN Mesh node. So let’s take a look and see what the Raspberry Pi Foundation has been able to build in such a small case.
The foot print of the motherboard is small (3.4" x 2.3") and it weighs in at 1.5 ounces. The processor is the Quad Core Broadcom BCM2837 64-bit ARMv8 1.2GHz 64 bit processor with one gig of memory.

The current RPI model 3B has built in Wi-Fi along with a low energy blue tooth chip onboard making the Pi more versatile than it had been in the past. Onboard connections give you four USB ports, HDMI video port, and ethernet port. The audio port is a combined 3.5mm audio jack and composite video. It also has Camera (CSI) and Display (DSI) interface along with 40 GPIO pins.

The default clock speed on the RPI runs at 600 MHz. To increase the clock speed you will need to edit the Config.txt file. The link below shows the information you will need to over-clocking your own Raspberry PI...
